Hey folks- thanks for all the positive comments here and over on the GP page. I figured that ought to hold everyone for now.
As we tour with Rodrigo Y Gabriela across Europe, we are playing for the biggest crowds we've ever seen as the AS Trio. The pic at right, taken from the stage after our set, represents a typical night. As you can see, the crowds are really getting it.
In other words, things are great but it's very tough to blog right now! So please hang in there while this very important business is taken care of. The regular blogs will start up again once we get back to the US and things settle down.
Cheers!

Hi Alex! The crowds are really impressive. So many people with pretty good taste of music :) I wish I'll be there, to listen to your music alive. Have a good time in touring.
Good luck ;)
R&G are somewhat lame, basically just a gimmick-- but glad AST is getting such exposure.
the good news is, your too busy to blog...
congrats!
I agree with Liz.....it's good to be busy!!! Congratulations on being too busy!!! I wonder if Hallmark has a card for such an occasion, bol!!!
"Too Busy To Blog." I like that. Very nice ring to it.
Anonymous- I respectfully disagree with you about RyG. If one only knows them from the hype & publicity, of which there is a lot right now, I could understand that impression. But rehearsing and performing with them nightly, I've seen two fiercely dedicated musicians, constantly working on their craft, creating expressive moods, searching for and finding new ideas and bringing technically challenging guitar to a broad audience. See them live if you can!
Glad to wait out future blogs for present successes in your very finely tuned important tour business. Per you tube vid w/ R&G, I can't imagine what 'Anonymous' meant in lame comment? What I viewed exceeds gimmick ? or ego, but offers a creative connection so rich and full of pure talent that is overflowing and overwhelms in what is played, and, as maker must give you such great achievement perpectives beyond measure. 'Gimmick' might involve motivation where pride and insecurity cause value disorder of position and prestige of final production over the creation of it and this does not apply to R & G, or Alex. (Perhaps Anon has envy?) Continue to move the bar along the rest of tours way - you all have amazing, genuine wow- talent! and the crowds are lucky for the experience ))
Enjoy this tour - I imagine that is very different play jazz for big exposure and play in pubs or lil concerts. I always did see the jazz as a music to be listen drinking some scott, sitting with friends, a clime more intimate.
And if the aereo chaos hinder return at home, make extra shows !
Hi Alex!
Im actually surprised you had any time to blog at all..lol! Very cool pic of the crowd,it kind of looked like when I saw you at the 930 club in D.C,what a night. And i dont agree with that comment either,I think that they are both very talented, and im sure have worked very hard to get where they are today.Thanxs for posting those vids, they were great.BTW..To bad i wasnt online when u needed help posting and tagging..i would have helped you out:) Well I hope your able to get a flight out,Be safe and good luck getting back.:):)
Thanks for the quick update. These are crowds you should be exposed to and it's a wonderful opportunity for the Trio. I had the pleasure of seeing you live with R&G in Tampa. I bought the R&G CD and am loving it. Great show! Upset to hear Testament wont tour in FL, so I'll see if I can coordinate a trip up north while seeing family and friends and see a show up there in the NJ/NY area.
Stay true to yourself Alex.
Alex,
“Too busy to blog” does have a nice ring to it. I can totally relate these days. Busyness is a good thing, especially, if it is of your choosing.
It’s nice to see the AS Trio performing to large crowds. You, Matt, and Nathan deserve all the recognition you are receiving.
Hopefully, some of this busyness is a result of opportunities and projects being presented to you which will give you the ability to fulfill some long held dreams. (I’m rooting for you. : - ) )
Looking forward to seeing you a Lupo’s next week and hearing few tales from your adventures on the open road!
